With the final school term coming to an end soon, parents have the same fear every year, what are they going to do with the kids all day? Here at Diggerland UK Theme Parks, we are open 7 days a week through July to August, making it the perfect time to venture out as a family and spend quality time together doing something completely unique. Whether your closest park is Kent, Devon, Durham or Yorkshire, we are sure you will have a day out to remember.
Why are our parks perfect for Family Days Out?
The stress that children face at school now is unfortunately a big problem, seen in an article from The Guardian, it states that children as young as 10 are panicking over SATs with worries of failure, and GCSE students experiencing intense anxiety over the uncertainty of their futures. There is never a better time to remind your child to ‘just do their best’, and to remind them that life is about experience too.
Diggerland offers the perfect opportunity for the whole family to de-stress and to have some fun, to try something new and to spend more quality time together, operating and driving real diggers! It could be time to make learning fun, or simply give your children a break from learning all together, especially with Summer holidays coming up. Our Diggerland Parks are aimed at children aged 4 -14, but the whole family even have an enjoyable day out!
A Family Day out at Diggerland doesn’t just mean the kids, a recent Age UK article tells us that almost 2 million older people feel ‘ignored or invisible’, don’t let this be the case with your family! On family days out to Kent, Durham or Yorkshire, don’t forget to ask if your older relatives would care to join you too, Diggerland is for everyone to enjoy.
With 20 different rides and drives within all three Diggerland UK Theme Parks, there is something for everyone to do, whether you’re digger mad or not. Adults can show the children how it’s done when it comes to operating a Giant Digger or a competitive go on the dodgems.

Family Days out to Diggerland can be tiring, especially with young children, so why not take advantage of our on-site eatery, Dig Inn. Located at each of the 4 theme parks, Dig Inn offer a selection of hot food, cold food, refreshments and snacks, perfect for the whole family to choose from. Whilst you enjoy some downtime, let your children run wild, and let off some steam in our indoor soft play area before you head back out into the park for another walk around and buckets of fun on the construction machinery.
Our indoor play area is great for taking a break from the park during rainy days, as well as lunch time when all your children want to do is run around and enjoy themselves, and especially great for any children visiting that are under 90cm who may be too small to go on the majority of the rides and drives.
