Plant Fitter - Devon

Diggerland Devon is looking for an experienced Plant Fitter who will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the ride machinery at Diggerland. The fitter will need to service, repair & maintain a wide range of machinery, including JCB & Komatsu construction plant, ensuring they are in full working order at all times.

Based at our Diggerland Devon Park, your role will involve:

  • Monitoring Health & Safety of the rides and drives
  • Ensuring all rides and drives (machines) are in full working order at all times
  • Quickly repair any faulty machines
  • Liaise with the General Manager regarding any parts required
  • Managing the customer experience
  • Strategic planning & development
  • Complete all service and repair records accurately

Reporting to: General Manager

Liaising with: Park Manager. You will also work closely with the Operations Director to improve and maintain the park.

Experience:

The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a similar role and be able to work within an already established team.

Knowledge of small and heavy plant is also essential.

The role requires someone who is self-motivated with good customer service skills & has a flexible attitude.

You will also need:

  • Knowledge of diesel engines
  • A good, positive attitude is a must, as is the ability to multi task
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • You will ideally have at least 2 years experience in plant maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Be self motivated and have good customer service skills
  • Work well under pressure and retain a positive attitude to customer service.

This is a full time position and the successful applicants would be required to work 5 days over a 7-day period. Due to the nature of the role, you must be flexible & able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays & special events.

Park Manager - Devon

Diggerland Devon is looking for a Park Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the ride marshals & machinery at Diggerland Adventure Theme Park.

The role will involve managing a team of fun, driven & enthusiastic team members. You must work at a quick pace & exhibit situational flexibility. Through diligent work & optimal fun, you will strive to achieve various targets including but not limited to improving visitor numbers, maintaining machinery & recording daily check sheets as well as lead & develop your team.

Based at our Diggerland Devon park, your role will involve:

  • Managing the customer experience
  • Ensuring fantastic customer service from employees
  • Strategic planning & development
  • Monitoring Health & Safety inc. recording of daily/weekly/monthly safety checks
  • Operation of plant machinery to complete ground work
  • Staff management
  • Reporting daily to the General Manager

You must be able to speak with people on all levels of the social strata. You must be a brand advocate & always promote Diggerland in a positive way so as to enthuse & encourage people to visit our Diggerland Devon Park.

Working mostly outdoors, you will need to have an enthusiastic approach & be willing to work during all weather. (Suitable clothing will be provided). You will also have an office that is a quiet space to complete paperwork etc.

Reporting to: General Manager

Liaising with: Diggerland Head Office, Office Manager (Devon), as well as some interaction with General Managers, Office Managers & Park Managers at other UK-based Diggerland parks. You will also work with Health & Safety Manager to ensure you adhere to all Health & Safety regulations. Occasionally you will have dealings with the other companies that Diggerland is partnered with such as H. E. Services, Masterhitch Europe Ltd & BuyADigger.

Experience: Experience of working in a similar role is essential.

You must have a desire to learn, be able to use your own initiative, be a self-motivated strong leader with proven success operating teams & be able to motivate others. You must have a passion for providing an excellent experience to our guests, this is critical. You must have excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal & organisational skills, which are vital in driving visitor numbers & getting the most from the team. Most importantly you must be willing to work with families & be customer focused.

You will also be responsible for dealing with all stakeholders.

Qualifications: Must be educated to level 3 and hold at least 2 full A-levels graded C or above in any discipline or hold over 5 years experience in a management position including either a theme park, visitor attraction, museum, hotel, theatre or large retail enterprise.

  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi task as necessary.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office – Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Desire to work in fast-paced environments.

Working Hours: This is a permanent, full-time position.

Office Manager - Devon

Diggerland Devon is looking for an Office Manager who will be solely responsible for the day to day operation of the customer service team within the Diggerland Gift Shop and Admissions Desk.

The role will involve managing a team of fun, driven and enthusiastic team members. You must work at a quick pace and exhibit situational flexibility. Based at our Diggerland Devon park, your role will involve:

  • Overseeing the admissions and gift shop finances

Responsibilities and Duties
