How to Get to Diggerland: Travel by Car, EV or Helicopter

Planning a day out at Diggerland UK is always an exciting prospect for the whole family. However, organizing your travel route in advance ensures your trip starts as smoothly as possible. Whether you are driving a family saloon, powering an electric vehicle, or arriving in style, knowing how to get to Diggerland helps you plan the ultimate stress-free journey.

Our theme parks across Kent, Devon, Durham, and Yorkshire welcome visitors using various modes of transport. Therefore, we have put together this essential guide detailing everything you need to know about parking, electric vehicle charging, and private aviation access.

Driving by Car: Free Parking and On-Site EV Charging

For most visitors figuring out how to get to Diggerland, travelling by car is the most convenient option. Fortunately, all four of our UK theme park locations provide free on-site car parking for all guests, eliminating hidden parking fees upon arrival.

Free Tesla Destination Chargers

Additionally, if you drive an electric or hybrid vehicle, we offer on-site EV charging at every Diggerland park.

  • Charger Specifications: We feature Tesla Destination Chargers supplying up to 11kW.
  • Cost: Charging is completely free for paying Diggerland visitors and customers of EVision Electric Vehicles.
  • Adapters: We do not supply adapters for non-Tesla models, so please bring your own adapter if required.
  • Availability: Spaces operate on a first-come, first-served basis during park opening hours and cannot be pre-booked. Consequently, we recommend checking the ZapMap app before setting off.

Need to rent an electric car for your trip? You can hire an electric vehicle by the day, week, or month from our partner company, EVision Electric Vehicles, and collect it directly from a Diggerland location.

Meanwhile, if you need a quick boost on your journey, high-speed charging options are located right around the corner from our Kent and Yorkshire parks.

Our partner brand, Tap Zap Go, provides ultra-rapid 120kW charging stations for just £0.49 per kWh. You can find these facilities located five minutes from Diggerland Kent on the Medway City Estate in Strood, as well as very close to Diggerland Yorkshire.

Arriving by Air: Helicopter Landings at Diggerland

For an unforgettable arrival, visitors travelling in their own private aircraft can land directly at our parks. Although Diggerland does not operate or provide helicopter charter services, we warmly welcome private helicopter landings subject to Prior Permission Required (PPR).

Guidelines for Paying Diggerland Visitors

If you are visiting the theme park, landing your helicopter on-site is completely free of charge. However, PPR is essential, and you must submit your request via email at least three clear working days in advance.

When emailing mail@diggerland.com, please provide the following details:

  • Aircraft make, type, and registration
  • Pilot name and mobile contact number
  • Desired landing date and expected arrival time
  • Point of departure, number of passengers, and total park visitors

Please note that helicopter landings are not available at Diggerland Kent or Diggerland Durham during July and August.

Guidelines for Non-Visiting Aircraft

Furthermore, pilots wishing to land at Diggerland without visiting the theme park attraction may also do so. This service is subject to a £50 + VAT landing fee, alongside the standard three-day advance email notification. Once our operational team receives your details, we will promptly confirm your landing slot and provide necessary safety instructions.
