Everything you need to know for your theme park weekend

The summer holidays are quickly approaching, which means six fun-filled weeks are ahead of us. If you’re looking for a weekend break based around a UK theme park, then we’ve got your back with our top tips and best recommendations.

Did you know Diggerland is the only construction-based theme park in the UK? Here both adults and children have the chance to operate real full sized machinery, so it’s definitely an experience like no other.

Our biggest tip would be to pre-book tickets on our website at least the day before. By doing so not only do you save over 15% on general admission prices but you also guarantee your entry into the park, so there’s no need to worry about us selling out! Tickets are available upon arrival, subject to availability. We have limited spaces available each day to ensure the best customer experience within the park!

Have you thought about taking on the infamous Spindizzy?! You will be secured into a specially designed digger bucket, lifted into the air and spun around. If the name didn’t give it away, you will definitely be dizzy when you get off of this ride. So… our biggest piece of advice would be to plan this ride around your mealtimes!

Spindizzy - Diggerland Theme Park

Speaking of mealtimes… why not pop in to our on site cafe ‘The Dig Inn’ for a spot of lunch. Why not take a peek at the menu before your visit to your chosen park.

If you were planning on bringing your own snacks and nibbles, why not leave them in the car while you enjoy our rides and drives? Our park marshals will allow you to come in and out of the park as you please throughout the day, as long as you get your hand stamped. We also have a number of tables, benches and picnic spots where you can sit back and relax while you enjoy your lunch.

There’s nothing worse than a long drive home after a day spent at a theme park, so why not prolong the fun and make a weekend of it? We would recommend arranging accommodation as soon as you have your visiting date in mind. To make it even easier for you, we’ve hand picked some excellent places to stay in the local area.

Living in the UK means one thing is for certain, the weather will be completely unpredictable so make sure you’re prepared. To help you out we’ve created a to do list so you can be sure you have everything under control!

  • Check Diggerland’s ride height chart
  • Pre-book tickets online to receive a discounted admissions rate
  • Pack sun cream and something warm to wear (the British weather can change like the wind)
  • Pack a change of shoes (it can get muddy)

Theme park days often include a vast amount of walking, so our biggest tip would be to wear comfortable shoes to avoid getting sore feet.
