Families planning summer fun often ask: “When does Diggerland open?” Good news! Diggerland is open daily between 28th June and 31st August. Visitors enjoy full summer access to a wide range of outdoor activities. This season offers ample opportunity to explore outdoor play and machinery rides. Kids and adults can enjoy unique experiences each day.
With daily opening from late June to the end of August, parents can plan visits flexibly.
Why Pre-Booking is Essential
To guarantee entry and lock in the best prices, pre-book your tickets to Diggerland UK theme park. Online booking closes at midnight the day before your visit, and same-day tickets aren’t available online. Advance tickets cost £25.95 per person for anyone over 100cm tall, which is a huge saving compared to the £38.00 gate price.
Children under 100cm enter free (measured with shoes on). Not sure about your child’s height? Simply select the under 100cm ticket, if they’re taller on the day, you can still purchase entry at the online rate.

Rides and Drives
Get ready for action at Diggerland! Your admission ticket gives you full access to 20 thrilling rides and drives, all included in the price. Take control of real diggers, dumpers, tractors, and JCBs for a hands-on experience like no other. Buckle up for the Skyshuttle, hold on tight for Spindizzy, explore on the Safari ride, and race off in the Groundshuttle, plus loads more outdoor adventures.
Want even more excitement? Add on optional extras like the Dodgems, Quad-Bikes, or Super Digs for a small additional fee.
Each ride offers distinct thrills. Skyshuttle lifts riders to 50 feet for beautiful scenic views. Spindizzy rotates guests up high in open-air fun. Safari offers a gentle ride through themed terrain.
Groundshuttle features custom-designed seating that will allow visitors to strap in and get ready for a bumpy ride. Our marshals will drive you around an off-road track, so hold on! JCB Rides/Drives enable people over 110cm to operate a real digger machine; those between 90-110cm can ride in the JCB, accompanied by a suitable adult.
Height Restrictions and Safety
Diggerland’s ride restrictions go by height, not by age. Most attractions require a minimum of 100cm measured with shoes on. However, children from 90cm upwards may access many rides with adult supervision, if they meet the minimum height restriction.
Specific height groups determine ride eligibility. Here are some examples of what is available to these height ranges. Please note that some of these may require a responsible adult accompanying them:
Under 80cm:
Little Tikes area (under 5s only), Indoor Soft Play, and the Train.
80–90cm:
Skyshuttle, Skittles, Safari, Joyrider, Go-Karts, Dippy Ducks, Buried Treasure, Dig-A-Round.
90–100cm:
JCB rides (with adult), Robots, Mini Landrovers, Dumpers, Dirt Diggers, Giant Diggers.
Over 100cm:
Mini Tractors, Spindizzy, Groundshuttle, as well as the majority of all other rides and drives.
The ride height chart helps visitors plan ahead. Measuring children before arrival ensures that you are aware of which rides and drives are available for them. Safety measures such as seatbelt extenders and supervision rules ensure a safe visit to our theme park.
Children Under 100 cm Go Free
So if you’re not already hooked, you will be now! Any child under 100cm enters free of charge. Children are measured on arrival wearing shoes.
We recommended booking the under 100cm ticket if your child is close to the 100cm mark. If you arrive and your child is over 100cm, they will be charged at the online pricing instead of the on-the-day pricing, if you had pre-booked your tickets online.
Money Saving Tips
The biggest saving you’ll find is by pre-booking your visit; it does pay to be organised! Plan and save by pre‑booking your tickets online. Adults and children over 100cm pay £25.95 pp when booked in advance online, compared to £38.00 pp at the gate. That delivers over £12 savings per person. Seniors aged 65+ pay £12.97 pp when pre‑booking their ticket, or they will be charged £19.00 pp on the day.
You must purchase your advance tickets before midnight the day prior to your visit. Same‑day purchase online is not permitted. Booking ahead also secures your entry on busy summer days.
Pre‑booking helps families avoid the stress of being turned away due to maximum capacity, so being organised ahead of time can help save you stress.
Another great way to save money is by bringing a picnic. Nothing says a family day out like a homemade picnic! Feel free to leave this in your vehicle; you can always re-enter the park if you exit via the Goodie Store and get your hand stamped. You can enjoy your delicious picnic in our designated picnic areas.
If you thought it couldn’t get better, well, think again! Did you know we offer FREE electric vehicle charging for our customers whilst visiting? Plug in, charge up, and enjoy your day!
