A complete beginner’s guide to visiting Diggerland UK

If you are planning a first visit to Diggerland UK, this guide will help you understand exactly what to expect, how the day works, and how to make the most of all the rides, drives and outdoor activities included in your ticket. It is designed to be simple, practical and useful whether you are visiting with young children, teenagers or as a group.

Ticket prices and the best way to book

One of the most common questions we get asked is about ticket prices and the best way to get the cheapest day out.

At Diggerland, the best value tickets are available when you pre-book online. Pre-booking is the cheapest way to visit and must be done at least the day before your planned visit through the official Diggerland website. This helps secure your entry in advance and ensures you get the best available rate compared to walk up pricing.

Booking ahead is also recommended during busy school holidays and weekends, as it guarantees your place and helps you plan your day more easily.

Diggerland standard tickets cost £25.95 per person when booked online. £39.50 if you pay on the gate. Children under 90cm enter for free.

Any visitor entering Diggerland that has a disability will get entrance for one carer to enter free of charge.

We also offer an OAP 65+ rate of £19.75pp on the gate or £12.97pp when pre-booked on the Diggerland website.

Age, height and ride access

We are often asked how old you need to be to go on the rides and drives. At Diggerland, we do not work by age alone. Instead, we use height guidelines because we know children grow at different rates. When entering Diggerland, your child will be measured, with shoes on, at the admissions desk. If your child measures under 90cm, they will enter free of charge.

There is a clear ride height chart available at the park which shows exactly what rides, drives and experiences children can access. Depending on their height, they may be able to ride accompanied with an adult or take part in activities independently.

This approach helps make sure everyone is safe while still allowing as many visitors as possible to enjoy the full range of rides and outdoor activities.

There really is plenty to do for all ages, from younger children trying their first ride experiences to older children and adults taking on more hands-on driving activities.

We do recommend having a look at each of our rides pages to get an idea of the ride type and also the height restrictions. At the entrance of each of our rides, our marshals will measure your child to check their height to see if they can ride, whether that be accompanied or alone.

A full day out experience

A visit to Diggerland is a full day experience, not just a quick stop. There is a large amount of outdoor space and a wide range of rides and drives to explore, so we always advise allowing enough time to enjoy everything at a relaxed pace.

Because there is so much included in your ticket, you can move between different attractions throughout the day without feeling rushed. Whether you prefer ride experiences, challenge based drives or simply exploring the park, there is plenty to keep you busy. Be sure to check the opening times for the day you are visiting. There are not time slots, but we do recommend you arrive nearer to the opening time to make the most of your day with us!

Food and drink on site: The Dig Inn Cafe

A full day out means you will need somewhere to eat, and we have you covered with the Dig Inn Cafe on site.

The café offers a selection of food and drink options suitable for families and children. An example menu for each location can be found on the Diggerland website, so you can get an idea of what is available before your visit.

It is a convenient way to take a break during your day without needing to leave the park, and it is designed to fit around your visit so you can quickly refuel and get back to the rides and drives.

Gifts and souvenirs in the Goodie Store

If you want to take a piece of your visit home with you, the Goodie Store is the place to visit.

Here you will find a range of Diggerland merchandise, including clothing, toys and themed gifts. From digger toys to branded JCB clothing, there is something for all ages.

Some of the items are also available through the online Goodie Store, so if you forget something or want to browse before your visit, you can do that too. It is a great way to remember your day out and pick up something fun for children who loved the experience.

Optional coin operated rides

Around the park you will also find some coin operated rides. These are completely optional and are not required to enjoy your day.

There is already plenty included in your ticket, so you can easily have a full and satisfying visit without spending anything extra. However, for those who want a bit more variety, the coin operated rides are available as an additional option.

We also have some smaller coin operated rides suitable for younger or smaller children, which can be a nice extra for families with very young visitors.

Children under 90cm enter free of charge, making it a great value day out for families with toddlers as well.

What to wear for your visit

Diggerland is an outdoor attraction, so it is important to dress appropriately for the weather on the day of your visit.

We are open whatever the weather, so it is always a good idea to check the forecast before you arrive. On sunny days, we recommend sun hats and sunscreen to stay comfortable while you enjoy the outdoor activities.

On wetter days, rain macs and wellies are a good idea, especially as some areas of the park are outdoors and involve hands-on activities.

We always advise wearing closed toe shoes. While there is a path around the park, this is a working environment with real machinery and outdoor surfaces, so comfortable and practical footwear is essential.

We would also suggest avoiding brand new white trainers, as the nature of the park means they may get a little dusty or muddy during your visit.

Plan your visit

A trip to Diggerland UK is all about getting stuck into hands-on rides, drives and outdoor activities that you will not find anywhere else. From family friendly experiences to more adventurous machine based challenges, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

So what are you waiting for. Pre-book your tickets online now for the best price.
