Today, nearly all of England’s remaining Coronavirus restrictions have been lifted. These new changes mean that after nearly 18 months all legal restrictions will end for the foreseeable future. But what does the new announcement mean for Diggerland?
Now, indoor events such as concerts, theatres and sporting events are able to reopen at full capacity. The decision comes after over 85% of the adult population in England have received at least the first dose of a vaccine.
It is now no longer a requirement to wear a face covering by law, instead the guidance suggests individuals should wear a face covering where they should choose. In addition to this, the 2 metre social distancing rule has ended. All legal limits on numbers meeting indoors and outdoors have also been lifted.
As Diggerland is primarily an outdoor attraction, we have been able to operate smoothly, with regulations in place, since reopening. Read on to find more information about what’s changed at Diggerland!
What’s changed at Diggerland?
Before entry:
All four of our Diggerland parks are still running at a limited capacity. However, this has been increased to allow more guests to enjoy the parks.
These new regulations also mean that group visits are not limited. Instead, we are allowing groups however big to enjoy our Diggerland park.
Previously, all guests were required to provide their details or scan the QR code for NHS Track and Trace on admission. Diggerland will continue to display the QR code posters so guests can scan it with the NHS app if they would like to. However, this will not be a requirement for entering the park.
While in the park:
Since reopening, Diggerland has been encouraging social distancing within our parks. However, now guests are not legally required to socially distance themselves from each other.
Face coverings are now no longer a legal mandatory requirement for either indoor or outdoor activities, therefore Diggerland guests are not required to wear them.
Of course, any guests who wish to wear a face covering will be respected. On rides in which guests are in close proximity to Diggerland staff, our marshals will wear a face covering.
Diggerand’s indoor play areas have reopened in Kent, Durham and Yorkshire. Our Diggerland marshals would monitor the indoor soft play areas to limit capacity, encourage social distancing and regularly clean all equipment.
The indoor play areas no longer have a limited visitor capacity and social distancing is not essential. Our Diggerland marshals will still be monitoring the play areas to ensure they are being kept clean and safe for all visitors.

And what’s staying in place?
All four of our Diggerland parks will still have hand sanitising stations for guests to use at their own need. We would also suggest customers bring their own hand sanitiser. For the safety of our guests and staff, we will still be turning away anyone who presents symptoms of Covid-19.
Food facilities at Diggerland
We are still encouraging all visitors to pay by contactless card payment, where possible. Cash is required for our coin operated rides and the ice cream vans.
All guests are welcome to bring their own food and drink should they wish. Our Diggerland parks have lots of outdoor seating areas. We also have green areas should guests wish to bring a picnic blanket.
What if I test positive for Covid-19?
If you, or any member of your booking group, tests positive for Covid-19 you are still required legally to isolate for 10 days even if you have had both vaccines. Due to this, you and your group will be unable to visit Diggerland.
For any guests who pre-book their tickets online, we are able to transfer their whole booking to another date. Unfortunately, we are unable to move only part of the booking. To transfer your booking due to Covid-19, please give our Booking team a call on 0871 22 77 007.
