Have You Always Wanted To Operate A Dumper Truck?

Where can I operate a dumper truck? A question that only individuals in the construction industry would normally ask. Well, not anymore!

Diggerland is the only UK based theme park where we allow children and adults to operate real life construction machinery. For those parents with children that have a love for all things construction, then we have you covered. Unleash your inner dumper truck operator and enjoy driving mini dumper trucks and plenty of other construction equipment.

Who knows it could be the inspirational trip your child needs, to kick start their passion in a construction career!

The Dumper Trucks attraction is the perfect ride to get a family member ready with a camera. The Dumpers will be slow enough for children to move safely round the track, as well as have their photo taken. Clamber aboard, belt up and get ready for the ultimate construction thrill!

Who can enjoy the dumper truck ride?

If you’re looking to enjoy a ride on our Dumper Trucks then all visitors will need to reach the minimum height requirement. For those over the height of 90cm, you’ll be able to sit back and relish in the feeling of operating your own dumper truck round the track!

Visitors that are actually over 140cm will also be able to operate the dumper truck on their own!

We also have a dedicated ride height chart available at the entrance of the ride. If you’re unsure if your child is over the required minimum height, then our friendly marshals are always on hand to measure and advise.

Fun facts about our Dumper Trucks

Dumper trucks at Diggerland have been specially designed to ensure they are safe for our visitors to use. Normally, a Terex 1 tonne dumper is capable of doing 7mph on a typical construction site. However, our sister company Masterhitch Europe Ltd, have created and added safety bars round the skip of the dumper, and installed a restrictor to ensure visitors cannot travel faster than a typical walking speed.

Did you know that the dumpers are fitted with a 16kW engine, and can carry a maximum capacity of 1000kg. That’s the same as carrying 4 male polar bears!

When you leave Diggerland, you can show off to your friends and family that you’ve driven a dumper that weighs 1310 kg. Not many people can say that!

Where can I locate the dumper truck attraction in each park?

Our Dumper Truck attraction is one of the main rides at the front of the park. Again, it is just a short walk away from the admissions area. Once you head past the Dodgems, the Dumper Truck ride entrance is on the right. View the Diggerland Kent park map here.

As you enter the main park from the admissions area, the dumper trucks are located just a short walk ahead. Once you walk past the Dirt Diggers, Dumper Trucks can be found opposite the Groundshuttle ride. The Diggerland Devon park map can be viewed here.

At our Diggerland Durham park, visitors will need to come out of the admissions area, and turn left past Spindizzy. The Dumper Trucks ride entrance will be immediately on the left. View the park map here

If you’re visiting our Diggerland Yorkshire park. The Dumper Trucks can be located slap bang in the middle of our entire park. The easiest way to get there is to head out of the admissions area, and follow the path straight ahead until you see StackAttack. The Dumper trucks will be the next attraction on the right. Save a copy of our Yorkshire park map for your reference.
