The easing of covid restrictions couldn’t have come at a better time. Tthe clocks have gone forward, and we get the long awaited lighter evenings. Some parts of the UK are also experiencing some fantastic weather. Family days out are now happening and we can’t wait to see everyone out and about.
Find out what family days out you could be planning, as well as our sunshine checklist and our latest special offer…
COVID RESTRICTIONS – HOW HAVE THEY CHANGED?
The government has announced the next step in easing restrictions. Although it’s a very small step for some, it’s just what others need to keep positive. As of 29th March 2021, households are now allowed to meet in a group of up to 6 people in a private garden or public space. So how does that affect family days out we hear you ask?
Families have now been told to stay local instead of stay home. Enjoying some fresh air, and safely seeing loved ones is now the top priority. Get out and about with our family days out sunshine guide!
BBQ
As soon as the UK sees a glimmer of sunshine and warm weather, the BBQ comes out! We definitely won’t be complaining, can you beat a BBQ?! It may be slightly different this year as we won’t be able to have a large family gathering. For the time being I think most people would be grateful to meet in a group of 6 or join with another household outside.
Last year when the rule of 6 was first introduced, the government advised individuals to bring their own cutlery. It’s a safer way to enjoy a bbq and we would highly recommend sticking to these rules again.
Outdoor sports
Organised outdoor activities for both children and adults have now been able to resume in England. If you’re looking to escape the house for a day, especially to enjoy fantastic weather, sports may be an exciting, competitive event for most families. Organise a kick around down your local field in a group of 6, or even with people from your household. It is guaranteed to burn a few calories, whilst enjoying some fun in the sun! Which sport would you love to get involved in?
Trip to the coast
Luckily for all of our parks in Kent, Durham and Yorkshire, the forecast is looking bright for the next couple of days. It’s not every day that you can visit the coast in March. We wouldn’t advise everyone to flock to a beach or drive miles to get to the coast as we all still need to remain safe and vigilant. However, taking the time out to enjoy our local national beauty spots will do us all a bit of good! While you’re at it, why not take a walk along the coast and enjoy all of the gorgeous scenery on offer. It sounds like a perfect day out to us!
Taking a trip to the coast can be very hectic for families, especially with small children, so be sure to use our handy checklist below.
