Diggerland has four locations across the UK – Kent, Devon, Durham, and Yorkshire. Each park is the perfect destination for thrilling family days out. Top Tips for visiting in October

Do you want to prebook tickets for a family day out during the October half term? Don’t forget to read our top tips below.

October in the UK often brings rainy weather, and we want to ensure you’re prepared for visiting an outdoor attraction. Make sure everyone in the group wears warm, comfortable clothing, and plenty of it if the weather does turn colder! We would also recommend bringing waterproof clothing in case of rain, and an additional change of clothes if required.

Now, let’s cover footwear. We know you want to wear your nicest pair of trainers on a great day out, but definitely avoid picking Diggerland to wear them in. Be prepared to get down and dirty, as there will be plenty of mud involved. Whether that’s getting in and out of the machinery, walking around the park and standing in the ride queue. During October, we would definitely recommend a pair of wellies or waterproof shoes.

Make sure you check the weather forecast before you visit, to give you a better idea!

Booking in advance to guarantee your tickets

October half term can get pretty busy, especially as it is the last half term before our season ends. When it gets busy, we would highly recommend pre-booking your tickets in advance to ensure you can visit on the day of your choice. Most of our guests tend to do this anyway as they will also make a saving when tickets are purchased in advance. Visit our tickets and prices page for more details.

Opening times

Most of our visitors opt to arrive at 10am when we open. However if you really want to make the most of your visit, try to get there before 10am so you’re first in the queue, and make sure you have your tickets to hand, ready to present to our admissions staff.

As the nights draw in, and the darkness is upon us earlier, the opening times at Diggerland will change. From the 23rd October, we will be closing at 4pm instead for health and safety reasons. If you’re not sure which day you’re looking to visit yet, then don’t forget to check out our opening times and dates for more information.

Bring your camera!

It’s common sense to bring a camera on an awesome day out to capture those memorable moments, but even more so when you visit Diggerland in October. The majority of our guests actually prefer visiting when the weather turns a bit wetter. Can you imagine how fun it is scooping mud and dropping it back down? It’s incredibly messy fun! Make sure you capture the delight on your child’s face as they enjoy being allowed to make a mess, all from the comfort of the digger cab.
