The Mercure Hotel in Brands Hatch is just moments away from the infamous Brands Hatch motor racing circuit. Here you will often find a variety of exciting family events and experiences. Less than a 30 minute drive you can be at the Diggerland Kent park. This hotel is perfect for families that love motors and those looking for an adrenaline-fueled adventure… at Diggerland of course!
The hotel is also fully-equipped with all the amenities needed to unwind after a thrill-seeking stay. This includes a health and leisure club, hotel restaurant, and a motor-themed bar!
The city of Durham boasts a number of historic landmarks. These include the Durham Castle, Durham Cathedral and of course… Diggerland. The beautiful scenery and quaint towns make for a perfect short break destination. So we have compiled a list of our favourite and most unique hotels.
Who doesn’t want to stay in a castle and feast like a king? Rated four stars on TripAdvisor, this hotel regularly offers “Banquet, Bed and Breakfast” deals, where on the night of arrival guests are provided with a five-course dinner as well as a fabulous breakfast in the morning. The hotel even offers the chance of a disco in the dungeon!
If discoing in a dungeon doesn’t sound like your kind of night, you could treat yourself to an exclusive stay in The King James Suite. This suite includes a 20ft four-poster bed and a Jacuzzi with amazing views of the castle grounds.
Gone are the days of generic hotel getaways, the past few years have welcomed the new craze of ‘glamping’ – glamorous camping. This is a perfect opportunity to experience the benefits of a ‘back-to-basics’ camping stay whilst still having the luxury of modern day amenities. Roast marshmallows over your outdoor fire pit with the little-ones whilst your smartphone is charging in your ‘traditional, oh yet so modern’ yurt!
Located only a 20 minute drive away from Diggerland Durham, West Wood Yurts are a perfect alternative for your family getaway.
Devon has an abundance of sandy beaches and beautiful sea views, and is a tourist favourite when choosing a family getaway for the school holidays. Here are a couple of hotels that will make your trip to Devon even more enjoyable.
If you’re looking for a tranquil stay and a taste of the country life, then a lodge stay at Upton Lakes is the perfect choice. The combination of modern luxury (many of the lodges offer private hot-tubs!) with the natural outdoors makes for a great family holiday.
Diggerland Devon is less than a 10 minute drive away from Upton Lakes, so make sure to visit us during your stay!
Set in the beautiful grounds of Verbeer Manor, the Diggerland Devon Campsite is the best place to stay for our Diggerland guests. However, there is a lot more to do if you are looking for a longer, fun-filled family break. For the fishing enthusiasts, be sure to bring your fishing gear as you will find Diggerlakes just a short stroll from the campsite.
Diggerland Devon Campsite is in the perfect location to explore both the countryside and seaside, and is great for families with a motorhome, or those who simply want a stress-free camping holiday.
Another historic county, Yorkshire was founded by the Romans and promises great attractions for a family getaway. Looking for scenery and nature? Then visit one of the national parks. Looking for history and heritage? Then visit the cathedral or the National Railway Museum. Whatever you’re looking for, we have the perfect places for you to stay.
Just a 20 minute drive from Diggerland Yorkshire, Quebecs Luxury Apartments offer a great alternative to your standard hotel. Treat your family to a stay in your own luxury apartment, with all of the perks of a hotel – 24 hour reception, concierge, and a complete housekeeping service.
Unwind after a long day of exploring the Yorkshire towns with the massage and spa services and the onsite gym. If that isn’t enough, you can even take advantage of a personal shopping service. Quebecs will deliver your groceries, toiletries or whatever you may need, straight to your room! These apartments are definitely recommended for all of our Digger-mums…
Yorkshire doesn’t fall short of luxury stays, so our second choice is another for a family treat. For a hassle-free holiday, Crowne Plaza in Leeds has everything you need all in one hotel. Take a stroll downstairs for dinner in the restaurant, and then head to the bar for evening drinks. More of a day person? Take advantage of the indoor pool and spa facilities, or order room service after a well-deserved lay-in.
Another reason why this hotel has made our list is the ‘Kids stay and eat free’ policy. Kids under 18 stay for free when booking a family room. Those under 13 eat at the restaurant for free. This makes your luxury break a lot more bank-friendly and is perfect for those taking their little-ones to our Diggerland Yorkshire park!
