5 Things You Need to Pack for a Day Out at Diggerland!

If you’re getting ready for a couple of days out in Durham, we think you should definitely consider a day out at our Diggerland Park. You’ll be sure to spend your time having fun with all of our diggers, enjoying up to 20 different rides and drives.

Of course, when you go for a day trip you need to make sure you have all of the essentials packed in your day bag. To keep you on the right track, we’ve put together a list of 5 absolute essentials that you need in your Diggerland day bag.

Sun cream

Sun cream is an absolute must when you’re visiting our Diggerland Parks, as all of our major attractions are outside. While we do have some indoor spaces and areas that are sheltered from the sun, you need to make sure you’re keeping your own skin, as well as your children’s skin safe. So everyone can enjoy a fun day out. We recommend using an SPF of at least 30, and keeping some 50 in your bag for the children.

A hat and sunglasses

If you’re coming to join us for an adventure during the summer, you will absolutely need to wear a hat and sunglasses, to prevent sunstroke! We recommend keeping your head covered for most of the day and using a hat with a brim (or a baseball cap) to further protect your eyes and skin from the sun. Just make sure you take your hat and glasses off and keep them secure in your bag before you brave Spindizzy

Your raincoat/umbrella

We really do see all of the elements throughout the day at Diggerland. It’s England, so the rain is no exception, and once it starts and you get wet you’ll struggle to dry again. Make sure you pack a waterproof coat and/or an umbrella that you can reach for throughout the day, should the heavens open. Moreover, if you come prepared for the weather, you can stay outside and continue having fun with our amazing marshals. While others are taking shelter inside.

Camera/Phone

If you spend the day at a Diggerland park and don’t capture the joy on your child’s face, you’ll regret it! Make sure you have your camera, or your phone in your bag and keep it handy. We’re sure you’re going to want a video of your little one driving the 3CX or enjoying the Groundshuttle. You could even set their smiling face as your new lock screen.

Reusable water bottle

At Diggerland, we’re all about doing our bit to save the planet, so we’ve introduced water stations around our park, where customers can fill up their own bottles. Make sure you bring your reusable bottle with you, so you can save a bit of money on drinks throughout your day out. This way, you’ll be hydrated and having fun all day.
